Weldon H. Grubb, 100, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was born on Feb. 20, 1920, in Carswell, W.Va., to the late Henry Lester Grubb and Bessie E. Blevins Grubb.

He retired from work for the Chrysler Corporation and moved from New Castle County to the Millsboro area in 1978. Grubb was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. He attended Oak Orchard Community Church.

Grubb loved spending time outdoors, doing yardwork and gardening. His lawn was perfect and looked like a lush carpet. Grubb was a very likable man. He was devoted to his family and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a hardworking man, determined but also stubborn at times.

In addition to his parents, Grubb was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Virgie Grubb, in 2008, as well as eight siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda K. Millman of Millsboro; his grandson, Matthew D. Millman and his wife, Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Tori and Ty Millman of Georgetown, Del.; a sister, Norma Trivitt of Bristol, Tenn.; a close friend, Gordon Severe; and a few other close nieces and their families.

A funeral service was held Feb. 27, 2020, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del. Interment with military honors followed at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
