Kathleen “Kathy” Sennett, 78, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023, in Middletown, Del. She was born on Jan. 15, 1945, to James and Josephine McKeever of Greenbrook, N.J.

Sennett received her bachelor’s degree from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) and her master’s degree from Walden University. She began her career as a first-grade teacher in Plainfield, N.J., and continued teaching in Detroit, Mich. She then taught through the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) at Iwakuni, Japan; West Berlin, Hanau, Wuerzburg and Vilseck, Germany. She retired from work in Seoul, South Korea, after teaching for a total of 42 years. In addition to teaching first grade, she taught Reading Recovery and trained many professionals in reading and writing programs.

She enjoyed several hobbies. She sewed, quilted and smocked many outfits for her girls. She loved cooking and baking for her family, playing the piano and gathering at the beach with those she loved. In retirement, she was a member of the Women’s Club in her community. She was also the family genealogist and made an extensive outline of the family trees. She loved researching the history of the family and making connections with her past.

Sennett is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Sennett; her three daughters and their husbands, Kristin and Dale Carman, Suzanne and Antonio Endriga, and Kara Sennett and Paolo Dell’Olio; her brother and his wife, James and Ana McKeever; grandchildren Isla and Samuel Carman, and Ethan and William Endriga; her nieces Cheryl and Nicole McKeever,k and other nieces and nephews; and grandpup Luciana.
