DelDOT to install signalized intersection on Route 20, truck

A new traffic signal and pedestrian crossing are coming to Route 20 (Zion Church Road) at the intersection of Bayard Road/Johnson Road. Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) began construction in May of 2020. Here, a local truck drives eastbound past the intersection.

The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) Traffic Signal Construction Section, in conjunction with Byers Electric, will be activating a new traffic signal to a flash operation after the morning rush hours on Monday, Oct. 19, at the intersection of Route 20 at Johnson Road and Bayard Road.

After the flash operation period, the signal will be converted into a full stop-and-go operation on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Variable message boards will be in place to advise motorists in advance of the new traffic pattern.
