The Delaware State Police this week arrested a 55-year-old Long Neck woman on criminal charges following a physical altercation on Saturday evening.

On Nov. 7, around 5:29 p.m., DSP troopers responded to Court Drive for a report of a physical altercation. The investigation, police said, determined that 55-year-old Regina Love was at the residence with a 74-year-old female acquaintance and a 72-year-old female acquaintance when a verbal argument had ensued.

According to police, the argument escalated, and Love allegedly took a full egg-salad sandwich and shoved it into the 74-year-old woman’s face, then allegedly grabbed her and allegedly threatened to cause physical harm to her.

During the incident, police said, Love also grabbed a hammer and allegedly went after the 74-year-old victim, causing her to fear her safety.

Love was taken into custody at the residence without incident and transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with Aggravated Menacing (a felony), Terroristic Threatening and Offensive Touching. She was released on her own recognizance.
