It is our pleasure to bring to you coverage of the efforts of these young women as they battle each other for the title of world’s best. These premier athletes are the stars of this event, as they have proven their mettle to play here by beating everyone in their respective regions. And it is the honor of all of us to be your eyes as you take in their incredible feats.

Though they won’t get the recognition in this site that the athletes do, it’s also important to stress how important the efforts of a few in this community were in organizing, planning and, yes, funding this tremendous tournament. Without their efforts and contributions, this game would be held in another location, with different supporters and different fields. They are a big part of what makes this event so very special.
