The Agenda

Tower's restoration plans unveiled
Soon, visitors to the Delaware shore and locals who travel Route 1 will no longer have to wonder from afar about the famous towers that stand along the coastline — at least, not if the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation (DSPF) and Fort Miles Historical Association (FMHA) have their way.

DNREC pushing for shorter dunes in Bethany
Bethany Beach residents and property owners continued this week to express concern over the impact of their new dune on the view from the town’s boardwalk, as work on the landmark 50-year beach reconstruction project moved to the north of the boardwalk.

Ocean View water may come with unanticipated cost
Ocean View officials are concerned the town’s property owners might get even more sticker shock than they heretofore expected when they hook up to the town’s central water service in 2008. That extra cost could come in the form of fees charged to abandon their existing wells or to convert them to “agricultural use” for irrigation and other such purposes.

Pumpkin pursuit: the ultimate Autumn quest
With record-breaking temperatures this past week, one of the last things on most people’s minds is the imposing autumn season (which started Sept. 23, mind you). For those of us who have managed to realize that it is the second week of October, myself included, we have taken the time to adorn our homes with one of the most recognizable and trajectory-friendly pieces of produce out there, the pumpkin.

Hi Point Farm is tops for any occasion

Indians fall against defending champs Delmar
Last year, Delmar defeated Indian River’s varsity football team 28-21 and went on to win the Southern Division championship. The Indians had held the title three consecutive years, dating back to 2003. Even after last year’s turn of events, Delmar knew that Indian River is a dangerous team and that this year’s game could hold the key to another division championship for either team.
