Correction:
The $13,631 revenue shortfall recently discovered in Millville was in property tax, not transfer taxes. The town has assessed $51,369 for the 2007-2008 fiscal year, but the amount was budgeted at $65,000 under the town’s previous financial administrator.

Delaware State Police officials were searching mid-week for Jose L. Estrada, a 26-year-old Selbyville resident and sex offender who had failed to re-register his address. Estrada – who also goes by the names Anemida Dejesusvargas, Anrudi D. Vargas and Aneuida Dejesus-Vargas – is one of the state police’s 10 most wanted sex offenders who have failed to re-register their address, a requirement for those convicted for sex crimes.

Chalking up performances this summer

Indians change momentum on the golf course
After a few disappointing matches to round out last month, the Indian River golf team jumped back on track this week. They pulled off a tri-match victory on Tuesday, May 1, when they squared off against Milford and Delmarva Christian. The Indians attained an impressive 167 — a step in the right direction from scores in previous their matches.
Indians storm to four straight wins
The Indian River Indians varsity baseball team (8-5) won their fourth straight game in a row this week, with conference wins over Smyrna, Sussex Tech and Delmar in the chase for the Southern Division crown.
Indians beat Milford, dine out
For the members of the Indian River (4-5) varsity tennis team, this season is all about learning the game and developing their skills for future seasons. But, more importantly, it’s about having fun.
Lady Indians move to 9-1 season
The Indian River Lady Indians varsity soccer team improved their regular-season record to 9-1 following a pair of road wins over Caravel and, most recently, Lake Forest on May 2.
