Swimming soiree suspects seized
Three Maryland men were arrested by Bethany Beach police in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 19.
Jacob Vorhees, 23, of Chevy Chase, Leigh Getchis, 18, of Potomac and a 17-year-old Bethesda juvenile were arrested by the Bethany Beach Police Department after allegedly climbing over the fence of the pool area in the Villas of Bethany West and swimming in the pool.
According to BBPD Public Information Officer Cpl. Joanna Robertson, the suspects were quickly apprehended and each charged with one count of second-degree criminal trespass.
They were issued criminal summonses and were to appear in court on the charges.
Milford man arrested after fight
Bethany Beach police arrested James Caiola, 18, of Milford on charges of offensive touching during the evening of Saturday, June 18. According to the BBPD, Caiola engaged in a fight with another individual, who sustained minor injuries to his face.
Ciaola was released on unsecured bond of $500.
BBPD blotter full of activity
During the week of June 12 through 19, BBPD officers arrested 16 people for under-age consumption and five people for shoplifting. Another three people were issued criminal summonses for loud music. The BBPD made 58 traffic arrests during the week-long period, one of which was an arrest for driving under the influence.
