Fenwick Island
• The Fenwick Island Town Council will host a workshop without agenda on Saturday, June 11, at 9 a.m. at the town hall.
• The Fenwick Island Beach Patrol will offer full-time coverage beginning June 11 and extending through Labor Day, followed by limited weekend coverage. Regular hours for guarded beaches in the town are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bethany Beach
• The annual summer entertainment series hosted by Bethany Beach will feature the AARP Chorus on Friday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall. The Newark Community Band will perform Saturday, June 11, also at 7:30 p.m., but on the boardwalk bandstand. • The Bethany Beach Shuttle Bus will begin operation seven days a week on Saturday, June 11, between 9:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. For more information on the shuttle route, schedule and fees, visit the town Web site at www.townofbethanybeach.com.
• Bethany Beach’s Cultural and Historical Affairs Committee (CHAC) will meet Tuesday, June 14, at 1 p.m. The agenda for the meeting includes discussion of artifact display in the newly-installed museum cases in the town hall lobby.
• The Bethany Beach Charter and Ordinance Review Committee (CORC) will meet Thursday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in the town hall. The agenda includes: review of the International Property Code and Bethany Beach Property Code, with information to be presented to the town council June 17; further work on establishing committee guidelines (also to be presented to the council June 17); review of a memo from the Budget and Finance Committee; and review of information regarding the town’s house numbering ordinance.
• Bethany Beach will host a public workshop on Friday, June 17, at 2 p.m. to discuss recommendations made by DelDOT and JMT Engineering regarding pedestrian and bicycle safety in the town. Recommendations include conversion of Atlantic and Pennsylvania avenues into one-way streets with pedestrian and bicycle traffic lanes. • The Bethany Beach Town Council will meet Friday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m. for its regular monthly meeting. The agenda includes: discussion and vote regarding committee guidelines and the International Property Maintenance Code; a first reading of the proposed swimming pool ordinance; final review and approval of the town’s Comprehensive Development Plan before it goes to state officials for certification; and consideration of a contract submitted by Cross Match Technologies Inc. for a live scan system with hardware and software.
• The Bethany Beach Planning Commission will meet Saturday, June 18, at 9 a.m. at the town hall. The agenda for the meeting includes consideration of an application for land partitioning filed by Tracy and Margaret Mulligan, for property at 98 Central Avenue, in the R-1 district.

Selbyville
• Selbyville will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new railroad museum on Saturday, June 18, at 9 a.m.
• The annual Old Timer’s Day event will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, in downtown Selbyville. The event will include an antique car show featuring antique cars, motorcycles and tractors, along with a craft show, outdoor activities and food vendors.

South Bethany
• Friday, June 10 — Town Council meeting, 7 p.m., Town Hall (402 Evergreen Rd.).
Century Engineering is scheduled to give a presentation regarding the York Road Pedestrian Path project. The town has been working to accommodate safe foot traffic on the south side of the road, and that path would link up with a crosswalk at Route 1.

Frankford
• Monday, June 13 — Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) workshop, 6 p.m., Town Hall (5 Main St.).

Sussex County
• Tuesday, June 14 — Public hearing for the county’s fiscal 2006 operating budget, 6:45 p.m., County Admin Building (2 The Circle, Georgetown).

(County Council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.)

Following County Administrator Robert Stickels’ report, and the aforementioned hearing, a public hearing to confirm the assessment rolls for all sewer and water districts, and to set assessment rates and other related charges for the same.

Council will also consider, among others, a conditional-use application filed on behalf of the State of Delaware, for a medical examiner’s office to be located at the Stockley Center near Millsboro.
