Violet M. Rickards, 91

Violet M. Rickards, 91, of Frankford, Del., passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del., surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Selbyville, Del., Rickards was an active member of Roxana Methodist Church.

Rickards was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mattie (Bishop) Hickman, and her husband, Avery M. Rickards. She is survived by a son, Bruce; daughters, Kay and Lorraine; a brother, Delmus Hickman; sister, Janis Burbage; three grandchildren, Kevin, Doug and Donna Kay; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Adam; and great-great-grandson, Jacob.

Services and burial were to be private, with arrangements by Melson Funeral Services.
