Ruth B. Tyre, 72

Ruth B. Tyre, 72, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was a fun-loving person who seemed to never meet a stranger and was family-oriented. She was content at being home because she enjoyed baking, sewing and keeping her home in perfect order. In addition to being an amazing free-hand painter, she loved the water and taught many the art of signing a clam and crabbing. She was a member of the Ocean View Church of Christ in Ocean View.

Tyre was preceded in death by her parents, Asher and Alice (Callaway) Burbage; two brothers, Herbert and Jack Burbage; and a sister, Grace Robinson Mitchell. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 55 years, Lemuel E. Tyre; four children, Jeffrey L. Tyre and his wife Sheila of Melbourne Beach, Fla., Patrick D. Tyre and his wife Karen of Selbyville, Del., Toni L. Clogg and her husband Michael of Frankford, Del. and Tracy A. Tyre and his wife Collette of Frankford; a sister, Jean Burton of Frankford; a brother, Joseph Burbage and his wife Mary Lou of Wilmington, Del.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ocean View Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1247, Ocean View, DE 19970.
