Richard ‘Dickie’ Baker Sr., 66

Richard “Dickie” Baker Sr., 66, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.

Baker was born in Lewes and served with the U.S. Army as a helicopter crewman during the Vietnam War. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for Sussex County. Baker was a lifetime member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a member of VFW Post #7234 at Quillen’s Point in Ocean View, Del.
Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Harvey Baker, and by his twin grandchildren, Joseph and Annie Adkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Ennis Baker; a son, Richie, and his wife, Sara, of Ellendale, Del.; daughter, Katie Adkins, and her husband, Jody, of Dagsboro; a brother, Wayne L. Baker, and his wife, Denise; a sister, Phyllis Fisher, and her husband, Bob; and three grandchildren, Ellie and McKenna Baker and Abigail Adkins.

A funeral service was scheduled for noon on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Melson Funeral Services in Frankford, Del. Interment was to be in Carey’s Cemetery in Frankford.
