Nedra Kay Knepper Dibeler, 62
Nedra Kay Knepper Dibeler, 62, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, after fighting aplastic anemia and complications for more than five months.
Born May 14, 1949, in Hattiesburg, Miss., Dibeler graduated from Texas Christian University and served three years in the U.S. Navy in the Arlington, Va., area, where she met and married Vernon H. Dibeler II. They retired to Bethany Beach, Del., after living in Vienna, Va. for 30 years.
Dibeler was a homemaker, Brownie Girl Scout leader and part-time media specialist and librarian assistant in the Fairfax County, Va., school system. She was an avid reader, well-versed in fiction and nonfiction. She was adept at cross-stitch and needlepoint, and many of her pieces hang in many homes. She was a lover of dogs and music, inspired by her parents, who were both musicians. She was remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Dibeler is survived by her husband of 37 years; daughter, Colleen Scout and her husband, Matthew; son, Reed Bibeler and his wife, Kelly Rossi; grandchildren Emmett and Amber; brothers, Dennis Knepper and his wife, Susan, and Scott Knepper and his wife, Cheryl; and her father-in-law, Vernon Dibeler Sr.
A celebration of life was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 E. Church Road in Sterling, Va. Interment was to be private, with arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Va.
