Nage chef to talk ‘slow food’ on June 4

What better way to celebrate the mantra of “slower lower” Delaware than with a slow-food movement? Or, to simplify it by quoting a plaque in a local food establishment — “good food isn’t fast, and fast food isn’t good.”

Slow Food Delmarva is one of hundreds of chapters nationwide of Slow Food USA, a global, grassroots movement. Hari Cameron, executive chef at Nage in Rehoboth – known for its commitment to using locally grown and sourced food, as well as their “Meatless Mondays,” where they highlight vegetarian dishes – will share some slow-food knowledge with the people at Good Earth Market and Organic Farm in Clarksville on Saturday, June 4.

Slow Food USA is a national non-profit that “advocates for food and farming policy that is good for the public, good for farmers and workers, and good for the planet.”
Or, as they put it, “Slow food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating.”

“Hari will be cooking things right out of our garden” said Good Earth Market and Organic Farm owner Susan Ryan. “It’s going to be a really great event.”

There will also be entertainment.
