Morris James Lewis, 83

Morris James Lewis, 83, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012.

Born July 21, 1928, in Whaleyville, Md., Morris retired in 1991 as the supervisor of custodians at East Millsboro Elementary School, after 24 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. Lewis also attended the Blackwater Fellowship Church in Frankford, Del. He was known as a family man who enjoyed working at the school and in the back yard, which was kept immaculate. Lewis was remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, William I. and Helen Vickers Lewis, and four brothers, Elmer, Robert, George Thomas and his identical twin, Dale. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Lee Brewington Lewis of Millsboro; a daughter, Connie Lee Gravenor and her husband, Charles, of Salisbury, Md.; a son, James Eric Lewis of Ocean View, Del.; a special, adored daughter, April Wrightson of Wilmington, Del.; a sister; Helen Etta Morris of Laurel, Del.; and three grandsons, Chad Gravenor, Matthew Lewis and Sean Lewis.

A funeral service was scheduled for Feb. 7, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home, with interment at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations to Blackwater Fellowship Church, c/o Wayne West; 29080 Timmons St.; Dagsboro, DE 19939 or to East Millsboro Elementary PTO; 29346 Iron Branch Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966.
