Millsboro Chamber prepares for annual bridal show
Brides-to-be will be heading to Millsboro this Saturday for the 19th Annual Central Sussex Bridal Show.
Held on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Millsboro Town Center, the show offers something for everyone, while planning their special “I dos.”
Approximately 30 wedding vendors will be in attendance, offering entertainment, transportation, makeup, dresses and more.
“Some wedding expos have so many vendors that it’s overwhelm,” said Amy Simmons, executive director for the chamber. “This isn’t overwhelming. You’ll be able to spend time and talk to the vendors. It’s a really laid-back show.”
Each vendor will give out at least one door prize during the event, throughout the day.
Aside from the wide array of vendors, there will also be numerous demonstrations for those attending. At noon a fashion show by Amore Bridal will be held on the main stage, followed by a fashion show by Candlelight Bridal, at 2 p.m.
“This year the Amore Bridal and Candlelight Bridal will be doing a prom segment too,” Simmons said. “Because we do have girls here who are looking for dresses for prom too.”
Around 1 p.m. Made Ya Look Salon will be doing an up-do demonstration, for brides looking for the perfect coiffure.
“This is the first year we’ve had a big name salon here, so we’re really excited about it.”
For those to looking to prepare for their first dance, Yvonne Cimo from Dance Moves and Manners will give a short seminar around 1:15 p.m. to show fun dances for the big day.
“She will be doing a small first dance demonstration with the different steps that the bride and groom can do,” she said. “That gets a lot of people up and dancing. They’re dancing down the aisles between the vendors. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere.”
Brides may attend the event for free, while all others may for a $5 entrance fee. Brides may also preregister online to attend the event.
“I’ve got several people signed up already,” she said.
Simmons said she hopes many people attend the event for a fun day in preparation for upcoming nuptials.
“I hope people come out and enjoy it,” she said. “The show should be a great time.”
