The Town of Ocean View welcomed Carol Lebetz to the town’s finance department last week.

Lebetz, the Town’s new staff accountant, moved to Delaware in 2002 from New Jersey.

“I did similar work in New Jersey,” said Lebetz. “Originally, I was an auditor for municipal governments, and then I worked in municipal governments.”

Lebetz said that, before she took time off from being a CFO for municipalities, she worked for her family’s church.

“When we came down here, I actually worked in Georgetown for our local church, Saint Michael’s. I was the finance officer there for a number of years, and then I left there and was a stay-at-home mom for a number of years. And now I’m back in the workforce.”

Although she’s newly acquainted with the town, Lebetz said that, so far, her experience has been positive.

“For my fourth day, I like it,” she said with a laugh. “It’s very nice. Everyone seems very friendly and helpful, so that’s a wonderful thing.”

Of her future with the Town, Lebetz said she hopes to be able to be an asset to the town, as was her predecessor, Betty Jane “B.J.” Keen.

“I hope to do a great job for the residents of Ocean View,” said Lebetz.
