Gallery One offers artistic holiday cards

For the first time, Gallery One has publish a set of holiday cards.

Each box has 16 different images – one from each of the gallery’s artists. This premier set of cards is available at Gallery One, located at 32 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View, and at Browseabout Books, 133 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

The cards include familiar scenes, such as the Kalmar Nyckel, a lifeguard’s chair, a path to the beach, rural farm scenes and the Zwaanendael Museum embellished with festive greenery and snow. Other cards have whimsical shorebirds and friendly domestic cats dressed for the season.

For two years, the gallery has published a boxed set of everyday cards of local art, and they have been very popular, selling out of the first edition, representatives noted. Gallery One member Dianne Shearon, who has directed both editions of cards, spearheaded the development of the new box set.

“Wouldn’t it be nice to offer our customers, cards to send out during the holidays?” Shearon recalls asking. “I have created my own cards over the years, and I use them in so many different ways. I send it to friends, welcoming the holiday, enclosing the yearly family updates. Or, other times, I have used them as thank-you notes or letters.”

The cards can be purchased at Gallery One, 32 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View (call 302-537-5055) or at Browseabout Books, 133 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach (call 302-226-2665.)

Gallery One represents 16 local artists and several local fine artisans. It is open seven days a week and has a Web site at www.galleryonede.com.
