Frank William DiTolvo, 63
Frank William DiTolvo, 63, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, surrounded by his family, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
DiTolvo was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He grew up in New Jersey and served in the U.S. Army for three years, including a year in Vietnam. He worked as meat department manager for ShopRite for many years before moving to Millsboro in 1985. He was also employed by Melvin Joseph Construction Company for 13 years. DiTolvo was a member of Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union, VFW Post 7422, American Legion Post 28 and Indian River Senior Center. His loves included being a prankster, repairing and gallivanting in classic cars, animals, music, movies, fishing, hunting and his family.
DiTolvo was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma M. (Keller) DiTolvo, and an infant son, Kevin M. DiTolvo. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane J. DiTolvo of Millsboro; two daughters, Laura A. Kucharik and her husband, Thomas, of Georgetown, and Christine R. DiTolvo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Carol A. Migliore of Somerset, N.J.; a brother, Richard A. DiTolvo and his wife, Debra, of Millsboro; three grandchildren, William, Anna and Elena Kucharik of Georgetown; and many extended family members and friends.
In accordance with DiTolvo’s wishes, a casual-dress (e.g., blue jeans) memorial service was scheduled for Friday, March 9, 2012, at noon at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street in Millsboro, Del., where friends may call after 11 a.m. A ceremony with military honors will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requested contributions to benefit People’s Place Veterans’ Outreach Program; 1129 Airport Rd., Milford, DE 19963, or to Southern Delaware Street Rod Association; 16981 Rust Rd., Milford, DE 19963.
