Fillet a fish and enjoy it for dinner at DSSP
With warmer months just around the corner, many Delaware residents and visitors are gearing up for the spring fishing season. Delaware Seashore State Park has been offering beach driving clinics and introductory surf-fishing programs for several years, but many people are unsure of what steps to take to get that fish from the hook to the dinner plate, park representatives said.
Delaware Seashore State Park is now offering a new program that will teach those anglers how to safely prepare a fish for dinner. The program is titled “Gilled to Grilled” and will be offered on Fridays, March 7, April 4 and May 2 at 7 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to fillet a fish, prepare it for dinner and enjoy a full meal. All food is included; participants just need to bring something to drink.
The program is considered suitable for those 15 or older and costs $40 per person. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling the Indian River Life-Saving Station at (302) 227-6991.
