Daniel L. Casey, 72
Daniel L. Casey, 72, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, July 20, 2009, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Del. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he worked for the union as a foreman in the binding department at the Philadelphia Inquirer for more than 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Ocean View Lions Club and the Men’s Club at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing skee-ball and giving away stuffed animals that he had won to children in his community.
Casey is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Alice (Gordon) Casey; two daughters, Kimberly Kelly and her husband, Bill, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Cynthia Henion and her husband, Brian, of Oley, Pa.; a son, Roderick Casey of San Diego, Calif.; a stepson, Donald Cornagie and his wife, Wendy, of Lansdale, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Missy Fate and her husband, Joe, of Bluff City, Tenn.; a brother, Vincent Casey and his wife, Emily, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Road, Route 17, in Frankford. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
