Coastal Camera Club offers presentation by Lewis Kemper

On Jan. 11, 2014, the Coastal Camera Club will host Lewis Kemper, a Canon Explorer of Light Photographer, to present “A Digital Day with Lewis Kemper” at the Fellowship Hall of the Lewes Presbyterian Church, located at 133 Kings Highway.

The club’s Community Outreach Program offers presentations by world-class photographers and there is no cost for admission. However, due to limited seating, tickets will be required and can be obtained by going to the club’s website at and clicking the button for the event.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

• 9:30-10:30 a.m. — Light, color and composition: Tips to improve your photographs

• 10:45 a.m. to noon — Getting the most from your digital camera

• Noon to 1:30 p.m. — Lunch break

• 1:30-4:30 p.m. — Digital Darkroom Techniques

Kemper’s work has been published in numerous books, including publications by the Sierra Club and the National Geographic Society. His pictures have appeared in calendars published by various organizations and in magazines. Much of his work has been shown nationally in galleries and museums, and he also teaches photography workshops around the country.

Kemper’s monograph, “Capturing the Light,” won the People’s Choice Award in Fine Art in 2009. He is currently a contributing editor to Outdoor Photographer and NANPA Currents magazines. Samples of his work can be seen on his website at

The Coastal Camera Club [CCC] is dedicated to promoting an interest in photography and advancing the skills of members through learning and sharing of photographic knowledge and experiences.

Guests are always welcome to visit the CCC meetings and competitions at Cadbury at Lewes facility, 17028 Cadbury Circle, Lewes.
