Chester J. McCabe, 91
Chester J. McCabe, 91, of Selbyville, Del., passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at home.
Born in Bishopville, Md., McCabe had been a custodian for the Indian River School District and had served in the U.S. Army in Central Europe during World War II.
McCabe was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mae (Campbell) McCabe; his first wife, Hilda E. McCabe, in 1993; and his second wife, Myrtle S. McCabe, in 2006. He is survived by two brothers, Calvin McCabe and George McCabe, both of Dagsboro, Del.; a step-son, Floyd MeGee of Georgetown, Del.; three stepdaughters, Bonnie King of Georgetown, Bessie Banks of South Carolina and Teresa Patterson of Dagsboro.; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was scheduled for Feb. 7, 2012, at Bishopville Cemetery in Bishopville, Md., with the Rev. Dr. James Van Der Wall officiating. Arrangements were by Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del.
