Band and chorus students selected for county, state honors

The month of January was a busy one for the Indian River High School music program, as auditions for both County Band and All-State Band were held.

Congratulations to the following students on their selection to All State Band: B.J. Baull, Michaiah Hook, Ryan Staib and Jewel Tomlinson.

Congratulations to the following students selected to County Band this year: Kayla Huebner, Michaiah Hook, Phoebe Walls, Jewel Tomlinson, Anna Williams, Alison Jennings, Madison McCabe, Haylee Olley, Neena Oli, Richard Scrivani, Ryan Staib, Josh Souder, Seung Son, LeeAnn Mumford, Will McCabe, Thomas Litchfield, Ridge Murray, Michael Cotter, Kassie Bird, Katie Bird, B.J. Baull, Matt Walt, Farris Hauck, Cameron Goff and Andrew Chapdelaine.

Back in November, auditions were held for All-State Chorus. Congratulations to the following students: All-State Women’s Choir, Olivia Crass, Berkleigh Fadden, Michaiah Hook and Bethany Walter; All-State Mixed Choir, Gwen Bunting, Andrew Chapdelaine and Cameron Goff.

This year’s All-State Band Concert will be held on Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m. at Smyrna High School, while the All-State Chorus Concert will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at Seaford High School. The County Band Concert will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at Sussex Central High School. Please make plans to attend any of these concerts and support our outstanding music and chorus students!

Tickets will be going on sale soon for this year’s 6th Annual IR Band Boosters Longaberger/Vera Bradley/31/Cash Bingo event, to be held on Friday, April 4, at Millville Fire Hall. For tickets, sponsor information or donations, call event chair Patricia Jennings at (302) 732-9019.

This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we look forward to another huge crowd ready to have fun and support the IR music program!
