Artists’ Exchange show set for Sunday
This Sunday, Sept. 5, the public will be able to view the work created by the Artists’ Exchange Group, an assemblage of local artists who meet once a month to discuss their work and share their creativity.
The show will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Salt Pond Clubhouse, at 400 Bethany Loop in Bethany Beach, behind the Harris Teeter grocery store.
Laura Hickman, a member of the group, said they have shown at galleries in Washington, D.C, and Annapolis and Easton, Md., as well as locally in Sussex County. She said being part of the group is beneficial to her as a creator.
“It’s very helpful, especially when you feel like you’re changing something in your own style or your own medium,” she said.
The Artist’s Exchange Group comprises Hickman, Victor Letonoff, Barbara Warden, Aina Negaard-Nammack, Pat Staby, Steve Rogers, Michael Krausz, Peggy Sampogna, Marti Marino, Connie Costigan, Lee Wayne Mills and Tuve Tuvesson.
Hickman said the group decided a local show would be good way to celebrate 10 years of helping each other learn and grow.
Pieces in the show will vary in media and style but include metal sculpture, fabric and various forms of “2-D” art. Admission is free to all, and pieces will be available for purchase.
For directions or more information, the public can call (302) 542-6524.
