Everett “Bud” W. Speakman, 84, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del.
Speakman was born in Wilmington, Del., son of the late Everett and Margaret (Black) Speakman. He was a heavy equipment operator with the State of Delaware Department of Transportation, retiring in 1990 after 17 years of service.
Jeffrey Randall Beynon, 68, passed away on Dec 2, 2014. He was born April 10, 1946, in Steubenville, Ohio, to John K. Beynon and Patricia Ingalls Beynon. The family moved to Weirton, W.Va., where Jeff grew up.
William Irving Baker, 89, of Gumboro, Del., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Willards, Md., and was the son of the late Norman and Bessie Farlow Baker.
Baker retired from Dresser Inc., in Salisbury and was a member of Pittsville (Md.) Volunteer Fire Co. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Louis A. “Lou” Becker, 85, of Selbyville, Del., died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., son of the late Robert Becker and Catherine (Gilcher) Becker.
Benn M. Bemiller of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015. He was 60 years old.
Bemiller was employed by Allen’s in Harbeson in the maintenance department.
Berette Charles, 53, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro. She was born in Jean Rabel, Haiti, on Aug. 8, 1961.
Charles is survived by her son, Kinsly Joseph; daughter, Walterita Charles; and stepchildren, Angie Charles, Ronnel Charles and Stephanie Charles.
Elizabeth “Liz” Carr Colender, 76, of Selbyville, Del., and formerly of Newtown, Pa., passed peacefully at her home in Bayside on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015. She was born in Trenton, N.J., daughter of the late Lester Carr and Mary (Arbitel) Carr.
Colender was a beloved wife, mother, artist and friend. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md.
Inez L. Smith, 89, of Selbyville, Del., died peacefully Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Selbyville, daughter of the late Charles Long and Amanda (Lynch) Long.
Robert Francis “Bob” Stroud, 95, of Severna Park, Md., passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2015. Stroud was born May 24, 1919, in East Orange, N.J., son of Elizabeth and John Streisguth and brother of Vincent Stroud. He married Gladys Robinson on June 6, 1942.
Franklin D. “Frankie” Bunting Jr., 57, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Berlin, Md., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. Bunting was born Jan. 9, 1958, in Lewes to Franklin D. Bunting Sr. and Barbara (Bryant) Bunting.
William Davidson of Blades, Del., 78, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was born March 22, 1936, in Dagsboro, Del., to the late Charles Hill Davidson and Margaret Ann Gray Davidson.
John Robert Gunderman Sr., 82, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Lykens, Pa., passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. He was born in Lykens, Pa., to the late John Frank and Maude Rebecca Woods Gunderman, on July 9, 1932.
Clarence Edward “Canky” Hall Jr. departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. He was born Aug. 26, 1945, to the late Clarence Edward Sr. and Anna Bell Baker Hall in Whaleyville, Md.
He was a hard-working man, who served as a line technician at H&H Poultry. He loved listening to music, riding bicycles and playing cards. He was very flirtatious and loved to be around women.
Ernest S. Littleton Sr., 83, of Laurel, Del., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015.
Littleton was born in Willards, Md., on Aug. 28, 1931, to the late Arlie S. and Elsie E. Tyre Littleton.
Michael John Murphy, 68, affectionately known as “Murph,” a former Marine, Baltimore City police officer, business and restaurant owner, and much-loved bartender, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, in his residence at Mallard Lakes, Del. He was born to William and May Murphy in Baltimore, Md.
George M. Ritchie, 90, of Millville, Del., passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. Ritchie was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Concord, N.C., to Turner Ritchie and Rachel (White) Ritchie.

Hickman was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Dagsboro, to the late Herbert Chamberlain and Mary Ann Steele Chamberlain.

Giselle “Mimi” Wilkes Verlaque, 85, formerly of Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island, Del., died at home on Sunday Jan. 25, 2015. Born Sept. 4, 1929, in Reading, Pa., Verlaque was one of five children of Gilbert and Rose Wilkes and took pride in being a member of the Wilkes family, a seminal name in American history.
