Lawrence F. Bates, 88, of Frankford, Del., and formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Wallace Bates and Helen Fisher Bates.
Bates had been an engineer with the Maryland School of the Blind in Baltimore and was a Merchant Marine.
Joanne Nerpiol, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at her home in Ocean View, Del., with her loving husband, Thomas, by her side. They were married 62 years.
Russell A. Peterson Sr., 95, of Dagsboro, Del., and formerly of Vinemont, Ala., passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at home with his family. Peterson was born in Providence, R.I., on Sept. 18, 1919, to the late Arthur Peterson and Alma Sedig Peterson.
Anthony Joseph “Tony” Piechnik Sr., 76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in his beloved slower-lower Delaware town of Millsboro, Del.
William M. “Will” Watson, 28, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Georgetown and Dover, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015. He was born on March 29, 1986, in Seaford, Del.
Wayne C. Weber, 64, of Clarksville, Del., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. Weber was the son of the late Clyde Weber and Edna Dorothy (Shadel) Weber.
Lemuel J. Wingate Sr., 74, of Ocean View, Del., passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015. He was born March 11, 1940, in Dagsboro, Del., son of the late William Wingate and Virginia Brittingham Wingate.
Mary Ella Trader-Wise, 96, formerly of Selbyville, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving Philadelphia family, on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015. Born in Withams, Va., she was the fifth child of eight siblings born to the late Isaiah and Elizabeth Cropper, all of whom she survived. As an adult, she spent her entire life in Delaware.
Mary Ellen “Ellen” Collins, 90, of Dagsboro, Del., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015. Collins was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 29, 1924, daughter of the late Delbert H. Daisey and Cora (Breasure) Daisey. She was a 1942 graduate of John M. Clayton High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Del.
Ruth Ann Dukes, 88, of Millsboro, Del. passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. Dukes was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Dagsboro, Del., to the late Raymond Toomey and Lillie Hudson Toomey.
Ray Franklin Fremont, 88, of Lewes, Del., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at his home. He was born March 28, 1926, in Danbury, Wis., son of the late Charles LaFayette Freemont and Bertha Ann (Folley) Fremont.
Amauri Isaac Hopkins, newborn, came into this world on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, and left us on the same day. He was the beloved son of Elton F. Hopkins III and Chelsea L. Cooper.
Though his time here was all too short, he is loved and will be greatly missed.
Charles C. “C.C.” Hudson, 58, of Frankford, Del., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at his residence. He was born Dec. 1, 1956, son of the late Vaughn J. Hudson and Lula May Hudson.
He worked at an early for Pargas Inc. in Millsboro. Later on in life, Hudson began his career in construction, and once owned and operated C.C. Hudson Builders.
Linda May Kahoe passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015. She was 53 years old.
Kahoe is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Kahoe, and two children, Daniel P. Kahoe Jr. and Michael C. Kahoe, all of Georgetown, Del.

Jesse Paul Stasi, 33, of Lewes, Del., passed away suddenly without warning on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at his home from unknown causes. He was born on May 10, 1981, in Rehoboth, N.M., and lived in the Navajo Nation prior to moving to Delaware. He was the son of Bruce W. Stasi of Crisfield, Md., and Margaret Wright-Stasi of Lewes, Del.
John Richardson van Dyke, 102, of Twining Village in Holland, Pa., formerly of Rehoboth Beach, Del., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. Throughout his life, his high energy benefitted his “can do” attitude. With a warm smile and inclusive outlook he welcomed everybody. His infectious loving nature was reciprocated by others, sustaining him in his final decades.
Sara I. Weiss, 78, of Lewes, Del., passed away on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at her home. She was born March 24, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Frank Marzin and Marie (Gallagher) Marzin.
Evelyn T. Baker, 94, of Frankford, Del., passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at her home. She was born in Frankford on Feb. 29, 1920, daughter of the late William Truitt and Ella (Hudson) Truitt.
Prior to the birth of her son, Baker operated a small catering business. She was a member of Frankford United Methodist Church and enjoyed writing poetry.
Robert W. Baker Sr., 59, of Gumboro, Del. passed away on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. Baker was born Dec. 18, 1955, in Salisbury, Md., to the late Harold Walter Baker and Edith Marie Toomey Baker, who survives him.
Ella B. Bauermeister, 95, of Ocean View, Del.,, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015.
She was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.
Warren M. Dukes, 83, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Jan. 5, 2015, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Health Center. Dukes was born in Frankford, Del., on March 17, 1931, to the late Horace J. Dukes and Edna Franklin Dukes.
Dukes was a retired carpenter. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Scott Benjamin Bunting, 39, of Selbyville, Del., died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015.
Bunting worked for A&A Air Services in Roxana, Del. He was an avid guitar player and gave guitar lessons. He was a member of the Music Academy in Waynesboro, Va., and also was a substitute schoolteacher in Waynesboro.
Sylwester Waclaw Dabrowski, 53, of Ocean City, Md., and formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at home. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, son of Tadeusz Dabrowski and Elizabeth (Pawlicka) Dabrowski.
Dabrowski had been a chef at Harpoon Hanna’s near Fenwick Island, Del. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md.
Bryan Kenneth Faulkner, 21, of Dover, Del., passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 9, 2015.
Faulkner loved being outdoors and working with his hands, as well as fishing, hunting and country music. He worked as a maintenance technician at an aircraft refurbishing facility.
Jane Germain, 89, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Emmerson, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at her home. She was born on May 19, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Chester Lincoln and Pauline Lincoln. Germain retired from the Grand Union Company in New Jersey, where she worked in the collection department.
Dorothy E. Habbart, 93, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015. Habbart was born in Farmington, Del., on Oct. 11, 1921, to the late James Reed and Martha Downs Reed.
