Thomas James “T.J.” Cannon, 32, of Ocean View, Del., passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015. He was born in Lewes, Del., on Nov. 5, 1982, to Irving Thomas Cannon Jr. and Brenda Shockley Cannon, who survive him.
He worked locally in construction. Cannon loved country music and enjoyed singing. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.
James Lewis Hall, 69, of Millsboro, Del., known to most as “Lou,” passed away on Sept. 29, 2015, after a short illness. He was born in Chester, Pa., to the late Chester Hall and Mildred Townsend Hall Scott.
Thomas Allen “Tom” Lafferty Sr., of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Ridley Township, Pa., died after a struggle with pancreatic cancer, on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, his 75th birthday, surrounded by his family.
Richard Lee Tingle Sr., 76, of Newark, Del., passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Christiana Hospital. He was raised in Dagsboro, Del., son of the late George Harvey and Rosalie Daisey Tingle.
David L. Worrell Jr., 82, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Hampden, Md., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on June 3, 1933, son of the late David L. Worrell Sr. and Marie Cora (Leister) Worrell.
Robert George Allsop Sr., 71, of Lewes, Del passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Helen Allsop.
Robert James “Bob” Brenner, 77, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015. Born Oct. 21, 1937, in Hostetter, Pa., he was the son of the late Norman Brenner and Frances Jackson, and his stepmother, Theresa Brenner.
Marie Ellen Decker, 93, of Lewes, Del., and previously of the Philadelphia, Pa., area, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Henry Samuel Flora and Ruth Cool Flora, on Jul 31, 1922.
Blanche A. Hudson, 75, of Selbyville, Del., received her wings the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015. She had a long illness and is finally at peace.
Johnny Jones Sr., 87, of Bridgeville, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
A funeral service was scheduled for Sept. 30, 2015, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, Millsboro, Del., with burial following in the adjoining church cemetery.
Dennis P. McNally, 67, known to most of his friends as “Mac,” passed away peacefully at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2015. He was born Dec. 5, 1947, to the late James T. and Eileen Finnigan McNally in Jersey City, N.J.
Jennifer L. “Jenn” Morris, 39, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of northeast Philadelphia, Pa., passed away as the result of an automobile accident, on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015.
James R. “Jim” Patterson, 68, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at his home.
Patterson was originally a native of Lancaster, Ohio, and a graduate of Ohio University and the John F. Kennedy School of Graduate & Professional Studies. After graduation, Patterson served as a social worker in Fairfield County, Ohio, and Annapolis, Md.
George “Geo” Johnson Jr. of Frankford, Del., passed away in Lewes, Del., on Sept. 7 2015. He was 68 years old. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on March 18, 1947, to Eloise and George Johnson.
Jeffrey Wayne “Jeff” Bell Jr., 42, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Westminster, Md., passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. He was born June 15, 1973, in Fayetteville, N.C., to Jeffrey W. Bell Sr. and Audrey Catherine (Chambers) Bell. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at Bear Trap Dunes in Ocean View, Del.
Sigmund “Sig” Gaisbauer, 78, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Exeter Township, Pa., passed away on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del., surrounded by his loving family. Born in Annaberg, Galicia, he was the son of the late Adelbert and Marianne Gaisbauer.
Leona Mae Hall, 93, slipped peacefully away at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro, Del., on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015. Born on Jan. 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Maggie E. Hall of Clarksville, Del. She was the sixth of 11 children (eight sons and three daughters).
Evelyn V. Hudson, 93, died at Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Home on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Robert Sedler and Frances Collins Wilkerson.
Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; daughters Faye Hudson and Naomi Cordrey; and siblings, Anna Long, Grace Moore and Robert Wilkerson.
Elizabeth A. “Betty” Lickman, 80, of Harbeson, Del., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at her home. She was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Wilmington, Del., daughter of the late James H. Myers and Naomi (Foxx) Myers.
Jeanette E. Melson, 92, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born in Georgetown, Del., daughter of the late Greensbury Elliott and Mary (Murphy) Elliott.
Melson was a homemaker and a retired farmer. She was a member of St. George’s United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Del.
Frances Victoria Showell, 102, departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del., surrounded by her family. She was born April 15, 1913, in Devon, Pa., daughter of the late Louis and Adelaide Thornton.
Harry W. “Tink” Timmons, 91, of Dagsboro, Del., and formerly of Ocean View, Del., passed away on Sept. 18, 2015, at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach, Del. He was born Nov. 26, 1923, to the late Violetus Timmons and Grace Malin Timmons.
Orlyn J. “Ash” Ashinhurst, 85, formerly of Bethany Beach, Del., and Ocean View, Del., beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, died Sept. 12, 2015, at his home in Pennsylvania. Born in 1929 in Warsaw, Mo., Ashinhurst was the son of the late John and Stella Ashinhurst.
Donald B. Booth, 83, of Selbyville, Del., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Eugene Booth and Anna (Tetzold) Booth.
He had been a machinist with Bethlehem Steel for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
Loretta E. Cathell, 88, of Showell, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. She was born in Willards, Md., daughter of the late James “Shep” Truitt and Mildred (Bradford) Truitt.
Cathell was a homemaker, a member of Showell United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Showell Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Blanche Gray Hitchens, 99, of Millsboro, Del., and Frankford, Del., died at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. She was born in Frankford, daughter of the late Louis Daisey and Della (Tingle) Daisey.
Capt. Wardie J. “Jack” Jarvis III, age 61, of Selbyville, Del., died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He grew up in Ocean City, Md., son of Wardie J. Jarvis Jr. and Anna (Rott) Jarvis.
Anna Mary ‘Ann’ (Glackin) Kansak, 84, passed away peacefully on Sept. 3, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Glen Arm, Md. She was born on June 6, 1931, in Coatsville, Pa., the eldest child of George Bartol Glackin and Naomi (Mattson) Glackin.
James Joseph McBride Sr., 82, of Clarksville, Del., died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro, Del. He was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Daniel McBride and Margaret (Farrell) McBride.
