Prescribed Burn at Cape Henlopen State Park to Make Way for Ecological Restoration
DOVER (Feb. 17, 2012) - DNREC's Division of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Agriculture's Delaware Forest Service are teaming up to conduct a prescribed fire on 24.2 acres in a remote area of Cape Henlopen State Park. A date for the burn will be announced; it is expected to occur sometime between now and late March, depending on weather conditions.*

DOVER (Feb. 17, 2012) - To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware's fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement agents responded to 19 complaints and issued two citations involving 14 charges between Feb. 8 and 15.
DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Announces Spring 2012 Trout Stocking Plans
DOVER (Feb. 17, 2012) - The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife today announced that its spring 2012 downstate trout season will begin Saturday, March 3 with the opening of two downstate ponds stocked with rainbow trout. On that date, Tidbury Pond near Dover in Kent County and Newton Pond outside of Greenwood in Sussex County will open for trout fishing beginning at 7 a.m.

DOVER (Feb. 17, 2012) - The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife is looking for volunteers to be trained as instructors for the 2012 season of Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) program. A training session will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 at the Aquatic Resource Education Center, located east of the town of Smyrna at 4876 Hay Point Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
