The Town of Ocean View is currently seeking candidates for its April 13 town council election. Two seats are up for grabs — in District 1 and District 2 — currently held by residents Bill Olsen and Frank Twardzik, respectively.
Those who are elected to the seats will receive a three-year term.
Those who are interested in serving on the Ocean View Town Council must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen; have been a resident for at least one year immediately preceding the date of election; be a resident of District 1 or 2 at the time of filing and during the full term of office; and be a Town of Ocean View eligible registered voter.
Any District 1 or District 2 residents who wish to file as candidate must file a “Certification of Intention” and pay a $50 filing fee at the office of the town manager no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6.
At the January council meeting Olsen said he would not seek re-election. Currently, no one has filed to run for either seat.
Those who wish file may do so in person on the second floor of the Wallace A. Melson Municipal Building, located at 201 Central Avenue, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
