Joyce D. Taylor, 86, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Delmar Nursing Home, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in the United Kingdom on Aug. 6, 1931, daughter of the late Frank Devine and the late Mary Alice (Morgan) Devine.
Taylor worked as a cafeteria worker at Lord Baltimore Elementary School in Ocean View, Del., retiring in 1988. She enjoyed reading, dancing, watching Orioles baseball and playing Yahtzee. Although she lived most of her life in the United States, she was still fond of her home country, the United Kingdom. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Denis Taylor, in 2010, and a son, Paul Taylor, in 2009. She is survived by a daughter, Denise Davidson of Dagsboro; four grandchildren, Jason Davidson, Brian Davidson and his wife, Teressa, Renee Sosa and her husband, Carlos, and Lindsay Taylor; and a great-grandchild, Logan Sosa.
A visitation and celebration of life were scheduled for Dec. 21, 2017, at Melson Funeral Services in Ocean View, Del. Interment was to be private. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
