Thomas M. “Tom” Albert Sr., 85, of Millville, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away on Dec. 9, 2017. He was the son of the late Frank and Anna Albert.
Albert graduated from Patterson High School in Baltimore and became employed as a truck driver. He was married in 1956 and began his family in 1958. After raising his family, he and his wife retired to the Eastern Shore, where he worked various odd jobs, including guarding chickens, golf-course maintenance and helping his neighbors.
In his spare time, Albert loved to work outdoors, gardening, riding his tractor, feeding birds and stray cats, and entertaining the neighborhood. He and his wife were proud members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company. His pride and joy was his family, and he loved having them visit his home on the shore. He will be remembered for his quick wit, contagious smile, ability to make friends easily and for wandering the streets of Delaware.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Albert, Frances Albert, Margaret Vogel and Helen Fields. He was the beloved husband of Rose Mary Albert, to whom he was married for 61 years. He was the proud father of Francis “Frank” Albert and his wife, Cheryl, Grace Neal and her husband, Gary, Thomas “Tom” Albert Jr. and his wife, Laura, and Judith “Judy” Graziosi. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Colin and Kerri Albert, Michael and Erin Albert, and Fabio and Giuliano Graziosi; a sister, Catherine Kolarick; and a brother, George Albert.
A viewing was scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, Md. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Parkwood Cemetery.
