Millsboro woman killed in single-vehicle crash

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit this week was investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that killed a Millsboro-area woman.

Police said the incident occurred around 6:35 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 3, as a 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer was traveling northbound on Mount Joy Road (CR297), just north of Cordrey Road (CR 308), attempting to negotiate a moderate right curve. Due to unsafe speed, they said, the driver failed to negotiate the curve, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway and strike a utility pole.

Police identified the driver as 32-year-old Kristin F. Fell of Millsboro. They said she was not properly restrained at the time of the crash and was transported to the Beebe Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Impairment on her behalf was undetermined police said early this week.

Mount Joy Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. The crash continued to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
