This year, drivers should be especially careful as little ones roam the neighborhood. Be cautious while passing parked cars, and watch for pedestrians.
Families should always use the sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the side of the road facing traffic. Look both ways several times before crossing the street, especially when stepping past parked vehicles.
Pedestrians should not assume that drivers can see them. Sunset occurs around to 6 p.m., so carry a flashlight, wear bright clothing, and consider attaching reflective strips to costumes. Adults should keep a close eye on children and teach them rules of the road.
Stay safe and have fun!
