It is with extreme sadness that the family of Beverly Ann (Hall) Richardson announced her peaceful passing on Sept. 27, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. A native of the Eastern Shore, she was born Feb. 2, 1944, and raised in Selbyville, Del.
Richardson graduated in 1962 from Selbyville High School, where she loved to twirl her baton and was crowned homecoming queen. Early in her career, Richardson worked for NCR and Phillip C. Showell Elementary School as the school secretary.
She is remembered for her infectious laugh, her great sense of humor, her amazing dance moves, her passion for animals and her love of shopping for clothes (she wore them well). Richardson loved everything about living near the beach and enjoyed spending her summers at the ocean with her family and friends. She and her husband also enjoyed camping at Cherrystone in Virginia.
Richardson was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Herman and Mae Hall, and her sisters, Colleen Lathbury and Jeanette Harris. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Roger Richardson of Ocean City, Md.; her son, Donald M. Hitchens Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Millsboro, Del.; her daughter, Michele L. Harry and her husband, Kevin, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandsons, Justin and Jordan Hitchens; her brother, Frederick Hall of Selbyville; and two stepdaughters, Tiffany Richardson and Erica Sturgis, both of Newark, Del.
She will be forever cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and still a queen.
