Volleyball coach Sally Craig and her Selbyville Middle School Indians hit the road for their 2018 season-opener and came away with a 2-0 win on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
The Indians posted individual game scores of 25-7 and 25-15 in sweeping the contest.
Scarlett Dunn had 18 total service points for Selbyville, while Grace Fiorilla added 12 service points for the winners. Camryn Ehlers helped the cause with six kills.
Selbyville was back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 3, against Sussex Academy, but results were not available in time for the Coastal Point press deadline. Check out the Coastal Point sports Facebook page for the information on that match.

Selbyville posts shutout over Delmar
Kendall Cathell and Addi Jerns each scored a goal for the Indians in their 2-0 win over Delmar on Monday, Oct. 1.
“Delmar came ready to play today and our girls were ready,” said Selbyville field hockey coach Taylor Miller. “Both teams played hard. My girls did a great job of passing the ball and getting the ball into their offensive circle.”
Kinsley Hall and Carley Topper were credited with assists on the goals. Maddi Neal made six saves to post her second straight shutout in front of the cage.
Selbyville earned four corner opportunities, while Delmar picked up five.
The Indians will take on Mariner Middle School on Monday, Oct. 8, with a road contest starting at 4 p.m. Check out the Coastal Point sports Facebook page for information on that match.

Selbyville picks up a pair of wins to open their season
The SMS Indians have opened their fall football slate with two impressive wins, over Beacon and Delmar.
On Thursday, Sept. 20, Selbyville cruised to a 36-7 victory over Beacon Middle School. Then, on Thursday, Sept. 27, the Indians put on a clinic in a 34-0 shellacking of Delmar.
