Pauline Phillips, 75, of Gumboro, Del., passed away from this earth to her place in the Kingdom of God on Sept. 3, 2018.
Phillips was a vibrant woman who served in many roles during her life, including being owner/operator of a poultry farm and an extensive career in the auxiliary of the Gumboro Vol. Fire Company, serving 44 years and holding many offices, including president, treasurer and others. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and also attended Gumboro Wesleyan Church. Phillips also retired from work as a Delaware State employee, from the Millsboro School.
Friends and family remember her as the most wonderful person anyone could ever meet. She wanted everyone to get along, and her favorite prayer was that everyone would love one another, and that everyone would get saved. Another joy in her life was her love of cutting grass and listening the radio on the mower.
Phillips is survived by her husband, the Rev. Mark Phillips; a stepdaughter, Terry Lee Chipman, and her husband, Clifford, of Georgetown, Del.; her brothers, Bruce Daisey and his wife, Pam, and Willard Daisey and his wife, Barbara, all of Gumboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A funeral service and celebration of Phillips’ life were to be held Sept. 7, 2018, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del., officiated by the Rev. Eddie Daniels. Interment was to follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to VITAS Hospice, or Gideons International.
