Ralph Rogers Elliott, 92, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018. He was born April 6, 1926, to the late Charles W. Elliott and Georgia Rogers Elliott.
Elliott retired from work for the Delaware State Highway Department on April 1, 1988. He also farmed and looked forward to his mornings at McDonald’s and Saturdays at Wilson’s Auction. He lived in the Piney Grove area his entire life and was close to family members, neighbors and friends. He was known as the “historian” in the neighborhood.
Elliott was a member of Providence Methodist Church; a member of Franklin Lodge #12 AF and AM of Delaware and past master of the Franklin Lodge; and also the Odd Fellows, Union Lodge #3 in Georgetown.
Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters, and by his first wife, Florence Niblett Elliott, in 1997. He is survived by his second wife of 19 years, Carolyn Rogers; a daughter, Rebecca E. Koch and her husband, Norman; three grandsons, Adam Koch and his wife, Debbie, Matthew Koch and his spouse, Jamie, and Ryan Koch and his wife, Maria; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, MacKenzie, Cody and Leah Koch.
Services were to be held Aug. 31, 2018, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del. Burial was to follow at Union Cemetery, Georgetown, Del.
