Ethel M. “June” (Pote) Vogt, 68, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Newtown, Pa., passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at her home, after a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on June 7, 1950, daughter of the late William X. Pote and Ethel Mary (Dunn) Pote.
Vogt worked with her husband as a bookkeeper for Essex Magnet Wire Company.
Independent until the very end, Vogt did not let her disease take her wonderful spirit and her sense of humor that she exhibited throughout her life. She also had a deep love for her family, along with loyalty and generosity that knew no bounds. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Vogt was preceded in death by her stepmother, Edna Pote; a brother-in-law, William Vogt; and her two canine companions, Holly and Miranda. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Vogt; two sisters, Estelle Kramer and her husband, Richard, and Patricia Goodwin and her husband, Wayne; a brother-in-law, Thomas Vogt, and his wife, Mary Jean; a sister-in-law, Ann Vogt; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, Del.
