Barbara Lynn Long, 71, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, in her home, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Chester, Pa., to the late Clement Terry and Dorothy K. May Terry.
Long was raised in Aston, Pa., (Old Ridge), and graduated from Sun Valley High School. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Fair Acres Nursing Home.
Long loved the Harrington Casino, spending time with her loving family by the pool sipping her piña coladas and going to the beach on the boardwalk. She also loved collecting knickknacks, doing the jitterbug, going to the Hideaway to watch her son, Mike, sing karaoke, eating Stockley Tavern food, and spending time with her family at Disney.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Long, and two brothers, Clement “Chip” E. Terry and Ross E. Terry. She is survived by four children, Andrew Smith and his wife, Christina, Michael J. Smith, Christine Smith and her husband, Marcell, and Jeffrey S. Smith and her husband, Richard; her grandchildren, Amanda and her husband, Mike, Ashley, Andrew, Alicia, Anthony, Autumn, Skylar, Zayden and Joey; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Tony, Adryanna, Audrey, Louie and Lincoln; special lifelong friends Andrew C. Smith and Isabelle Smith, and Wayne and Mary Bacon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Long’s life will be held at her home on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, from noon to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations to Compassionate Care Hospice; 20165 Office Cir.; Georgetown, DE 19947. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
