Martin F. “Marty” Horton, 82, of Lewes, Del., formerly of Carmel, N.Y., passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, surrounded by loving family, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on Sept. 6, 1935, son of the late William Kenneth Horton and Mary (Whalen) Horton.
Horton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1990 as a sergeant with Westchester County Corrections in Valhalla, N.Y. He was a member of the VFW and of American Legion Post 28. He enjoyed people-watching on the boardwalk, fishing and going on cruises.
Horton is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol I. (Cormack) Horton; three children, Virginia Porter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Patricia Holohan of Poughquag, N.Y., and Linda Bayer of Doylestown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
