Beatrice M. “Bea” Brasure, 86, of Millsboro, Del., passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She born in Millsboro, Del., on June 25, 1932, one of eight children, to the late Roy W. Brasure and Blanche A. (Wootten) Brasure.
Brasure graduated from Millsboro High School in 1950, and worked for Collins & Ryan in Millsboro, and shortly thereafter began her career at Farmer’s Bank in Lewes and Georgetown, from which she eventually retired.
Brasure loved time spent with her family and going to church. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro, where she sang in the choir for years. In her free time, she enjoyed taking rides throughout the community and visiting Cupola Park in Millsboro, where she would feed the ducks and geese. Brasure also spent a lot of time visiting shut-ins and residents of the nursing home in Millsboro.
In addition to her parents, Brasure was preceded in death by her six siblings, Hilda Klatt, Margaret Kopple, Irene Savage, Marion McCabe, Betty Morris and Leroy Brasure. She is survived by her sister Nancy Scorah and her husband, Wayne, of Millsboro, their two children, Todd and his wife, Becky, and Todd’s sons, Jordan and Chad and his wife, Lorette. She is also survived by 10 other nieces and nephews, Alan Klatt and his wife, Monte, Chuck Kopple and his wife, Terry, Gary Kopple, Tom Kopple, Connie Lathbury and her husband, Chip, Wanda Weber, Ormil Savage and his wife, Jennifer, Theresa Megee, Dennis McCabe and his wife, Karen, and Kristin Fisher and her husband, Mitchell; and several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
A funeral service was to be held June 30, 2018, at Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro, Del., with interment at Millsboro Cemetery.
