Viola Mary Carver, 85, of Lewes, Del., passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. She was born on Sunday, April 30, 1933, in Elkton, Md., daughter of the late Samuel and Viola (Kiker) Aro.
Carver was a dedicated wife and mother who kept a beautiful home and was the mother of seven wonderful children. She worked for more than 20 years at Grotto Pizza in Rehoboth Beach. She was a woman of strong faith and enjoyed attending regular church services and events, most recently at Eagle’s Nest Church and previously at Midway Assembly of God.
In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her meticulous garden and watching the birds on her many feeders. She loved sitting in her yard and reading her Bible for hours at a time. Carver was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Carver was preceded in death by her husband, S. Henry Carver; her two sons, Jimmy Chambers and John Chambers; and her two brothers, Ed Aro and Sam Aro. She is survived by her five daughters, Connie Johnson and her husband, Bert, of Tempe, Ariz., Brenda Lowry of McLean, Va., Diana Hoenen and her husband, John, of Lewes, Del., Robin Ray and her husband, Russ, of Harrington, Del., and Lisa Badur of Lincoln, Del.; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Going-home services will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Eagles Nest Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton, Del., where friends may visit beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
