Charles L. Clark Jr., 70, of Laurel, Del., passed away on June 25, 2018, in the care of Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. He was born Oct. 9, 1947, to the late Charles L. Clark Sr. and Sylvia Johnson Clark.
As a child, Clark loved science. He was a renowned respiratory therapist at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, known for touching many lives and mentoring many students and co-respiratory therapists. Among his other achievements, Clark was recognized by the City of Salisbury, Md., in 2014 for 43 years of dedicated service and for having unselfishly saved many lives. He always worked on holidays so the others could be with their families.
Many will remember him as a quiet man. Clark enjoyed farming, which was his passion. He always had a garden, which always got bigger and bigger. From the bounty of his garden, he made a great sweet-potato pie.
Clark is survived by four sisters, Carole Clark, Millicent White, Regina Clark-Curry and Lisa Clark; his nephews, Lamont Clark, Vernon White, Jeffrey White, Seneca Curry and Julian Curry; his great-nephews, Charlie Clark and Cristian Cotta; a niece, Angela Cotta; a great-niece, Emma Clark; extended family members; a very great number of friends; and the patients he served.
