Paul Wesley Saneholtz, 76
Paul W. Saneholtz, 76, of Ocean View, Del., died Sunday June 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born March 7, 1942, in Sunbury, Pa.
Saneholtz’s family moved to Herndon, Pa., where he helped with the many chores on the family farm, along with his sisters. He graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School in 1960.
He made his career in the food industry, first as a sales representative for Louis Lehrman & Sons, a wholesale grocery company. He then became a food broker and a vice president for James A. Weaver (which later merged into Acosta Foods) for 30 years, until his retirement in 2008.
Saneholtz was an active sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, scuba diving, skiing and camping. He loved woodworking and making furniture pieces for his home. He enjoyed youth activities with his children and was a Cubmaster and Boy Scout leader for both of his sons and was a soccer coach for many years with Back Mountain Sports in Shavertown, Pa.
Always with a book in his hands, Saneholtz had a desire to learn about a wide variety of topics. Since retirement, he had enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at the beach and spent many hours at the Indian River Inlet. He was active in the Romeo men’s group and the men’s breakfast group at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, where he had been a member since moving to Ocean View, Del., in 2004.
He dearly loved his family and friends and cherished time spent with them. He loved the Lord and was strong in his faith. He leaves a legacy of love and family devotion, and will be greatly missed.
