Dorothy “Dot” Wright, 94, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 5, 2018. She was born a leap-year baby and grew up as a farm girl in the Easton, Md., area. She often joked that since she only had a birthday every four years, she was still in her 20s.
Wright lived many places, had many adventures and made many lasting friends. She was a great mother and wife, who had a special love of birds, nature, cooking and puzzles.
Wright was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, James O Wright Jr.; her parents, John and Elva Mulder; her brothers, Cornelius, Malcolm and J.B.; and her sister, Emily. Surviving her are her children, James Wright and his wife, Tina, of Millsboro, Ann Wright of Albuquerque, N.M., and William Wright of Rising Sun, Md.; her grandsons, James Wright, T.J. Bowerman and William Wright Jr.; and her visiting angel and friend, Delphine Blake.
Interment was to be private. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Baywood Pool Community Center, 32716 Greens Way, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were requested to Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
