Gladys LaCourt Foskey, 87, of Selbyville, Del., passed away on April 18, 2018, at Renaissance Healthcare in Millsboro, Del. She was born on Nov. 15, 1930, to John and Sarah Gillman, and grew up in Pine Hill, N.J., with her brothers and sisters, John, Sallie, Gerald and Raymond.
Foskey retired from the Indian River School District after 25 years of service as a paraprofessional. While living in Selbyville, she was active in the PTA, Women’s Club, Girl Scouts and Democratic Party. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, painting and ceramics. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart was full of joy whenever they were together, whether it be a trip to Disney World, playing games, spending the night, Halloween trick-or-treats or Christmas magic.
Foskey was preceded in death by her husbands, Vincent LaCourt in 1993, and Edgar Foskey in 2008. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Bunting and her husband, J. Wayne Bunting, of Georgetown, Del., and Nancy Griggs and her husband, Ted, of Canyon Lake, Texas; and a son, Vincent LaCourt and his wife, Susan, of Kapaa, Hawaii; six grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Sky, Greylan, Vinni and Jerry; and five great-grandchildren, Dot, Julia, Kayla, Tessa and Christopher.
A funeral service was to be held April 23, 2018, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Ralph Castelow officiating and burial at Roxana Cemetery, Roxana, Del.
