Milton T. Ayers, 78, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born in Belle Haven, Va., on Jan., 23, 1940, to the late Isaac Ayers and Rachel West Ayers.
Ayers retired from work as a mechanic with the State of Delaware Highway Department, after approximately 39 years.
In addition to his parents, Ayers was also preceded in death by his wife, Vida B. Ayers, in 2004; a son, Billy G. Johnson, in 2017; and his siblings, Lillie, DeLois, Jeanette, Hattie, Elizabeth, Magdelene and Joseph. He is survived by two sons, Milton T. Ayers, Jr. of Milford, Del., and Ronnell Ayers of Millsboro; a special granddaughter whom he raised as his own, Dishonda Boyers, along with her children, Joshua, Ja’Riah, Terreana and Ta’Keah; six more grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service was to be held May 1, 2018, at Friendship United Methodist Church in Millsboro, Del. Flowers were welcome. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
