Lois Radcliffe, 80, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on April 12, 2018.
Radcliffe had a passion for children, the elderly and the “gift of gab.” She would befriend and help anybody. She was especially proud of her career teaching homebound children through the Queen Anne’s County, Md., public school system. She will forever be remembered for her loving compassion, her service to God and her infectious smile.
Radcliffe was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Evelyn Gompf; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Radcliffe; and a grandson, Scott Maxwell. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edmund “Ted” Radcliffe; her four children, Linda Maxwell and her husband, Bob, Bill Radcliffe and his wife, Sue, Thomas Radcliffe and his wife, Joanna, and Sharon Jones and her husband, Larry; six grandchildren who adored her, Karlie, Alex, Edward, Jonathan, William and Laura; two sisters, Ruth Bradford and her husband, Bob, and Carol Kelley and her husband, Charles “Buck” Kelley; a sister-in-law, Bets Evans; a brother-in-law, Lex Radcliffe, and his wife, Cheryl; and many nieces and nephews.
Radcliffe was a shining light of God’s love, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation was scheduled for April 15, 2018, at Melson Funeral Services, Ocean View, Del., with a memorial service April 16, 2018, at St. Martha’s Episcopal Church, Bethany Beach. Interment was to be held privately.
