President's Day weekend brings Coastal Point to your desktop

It has been a very productive week here at the Coastal Point. Our staff was busier than we’ve been since the beginning. We’ve just celebrated our first anniversary, and do we have a surprise for you!

Make sure you’re sitting down…

The Coastal Point Web site is now up and running at

That’s right! Accept no substitute for your local news on the Web.

Featured on the Web site are stories and photography from our reporters, updated weekly on the front page and archived on the archives page; viewpoint articles; classifieds; and our calendar of events.

Additional features are in progress, including a photo gallery page (where we will feature and sell our popular photos), local interest links and a contact page. You will also be able to submit your viewpoints, calendar notices, classified listings and your subscription information.

Local news featured on the Web site each week will include coverage of local town meetings, features on local people and businesses, sports coverage and upcoming game schedules and more. That means you can keep in touch, whether you’re on the beach in Miami or kayaking in Alaska.

Now in case you get lost, you don’t need a map. If you click on the compass in the top left corner of each page, you’ll be directed back to the home page. Clicking your heels three times doesn’t work here.

As in all other aspects of the Coastal Point, we welcome your input, including your ideas, thoughts and criticism of the design, layout, content and functionality of the Web site.

To give your input, e-mail me at or give me ring at (302) 539-1788.
