Frankford gains new eatery in Frankford Family Diner

After devoting years in the restaurant business, Fatih Ocak decided it was time to take the reins himself. Last week, he opened the Frankford Family Diner on Route 113, and it has already gained a following, providing patrons with a wide range of comfort foods and hearty dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From soups and salads, sandwiches and burgers to Italian and seafood dishes, the Frankford Family Diner offers something for everyone.

“We can make you whatever you’d like,” said Ocak, who opened the doors of the diner late last month with business partner and friend Faruk Ocak. “We have many items available on the menu, and there is a new special each day. If you want something that isn’t on the menu, but we have it here, we’ll make it for you.”

Customers can start their morning off at 7 a.m. with French toast, hot cakes, omelets and more, with fare that is available throughout the day. Club sandwiches, hoagies and melts are options for a filling lunch, and, for dinner, a wide selection of platters can be ordered.

The broiled stuffed flounder, crabmeat melt and cream-of-crab soup are among the top favorites of server Ates Ertan, who began working at the diner upon its opening, following a brief stint working as a waiter in the Milford area.

“I had many regulars while working in Milford,” said Ertan, “and we’ve already seen repeat customers come in to the diner here. I think the business will do well. People are talking about it, and word is already getting around.”

While the menu variety is one of the Frankford Family Diner’s biggest appeals, it’s the freshness of the food and quality that will keep customers returning, noted Ocak.

“I’ve worked as a cook before,” he said, “so I know what it takes to make good food. I worked with the same type of food before, and I know how to prepare it. Everything is fresh, and we try to always have something different.”

Two dining rooms can accommodate roughly 80 patrons at a time, and customers can dine in or take food to go. Children’s and senior’s menus are also available.

The Frankford Family Diner is located along the northbound lane of Route 113 in Frankford, at 34067 Dupont Highway. The diner opens at 7 a.m. seven days a week, and closes at 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and is open until 8 p.m. on Sundays.
